PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

I wonder how many amongst us have come across this statement: “YOU ARE ONLY YOUNG ONCE, BUT YOU CAN STAY IMMATURE INDEFINITELY”

It is often repeated that the only constant is CHANGE.

Change we must, otherwise the EVOLUTIONARY TRENDS will overtake us and we shall be relegated to the age of the dinosaurs.

How often have we asked ourselves whether we are contemporary! Are our ideas and actions IN SYNC with the present generation?

I belonged to the 1G generation; and this has developed exponentially to the 3G generation. Believe me, it can be quite baffling; and for the uninitiated frightening.

But a child exposed to these tasks & challenges will always be ready to face them head-on without much worry (as compared to an adult), probably due to the lack of inhibitions and the certain knowledge that it being a learning curve, one is permitted to make mistakes.

Let this stanza be our food of thought:

“A man’s not old when his hair turns grey
A man’s not old when his teeth decays
But a man is getting near his last long sleep
When his mind makes appointments which his body cannot keep”

Warmest wishes & ROTARY SHARES

EDITORIAL
by Eric Wong
Malaysia has become a place not quite safe for our children and even adults. The number of crimes reported in the local papers is increasing. The perpetrators have become more and more daring.

Something needs to be done urgently. Beefing up the police force is the right direction that has been taken. Besides, the community leaders should come together to provide input to the government on how to resolve this menace. Safety on our streets and in our homes must be protected, otherwise we’ll live in fear.

A PRIEST OFFERS A NUN A LIFT

A priest offered a Nun a lift.. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.

The nun said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?"
The priest removed his hand.

But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again.

The nun once again said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?"
The priest apologised "Sorry sister but the flesh is weak."

Arriving at the convent, the nun went on her way..

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129...

It said, "Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory."

MORAL OF THE STORY:
If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.
