More than 300 meetings with the 5 Avenues of Service and the Board. Commitment to the Rotary Clubs in District 3300. 47 Club Bulletins. Sister Club visits. Thank God, I’m still standing here this evening to render my Swan Song.
In my year as the President of the Rotary Club of Petaling Jaya, I’ve learned. I’ve learned about people. I’ve learned about the personalities of our members. I’ve also learned about Rotary. What Rotary stands for has become a beacon of hope for humankind. I’ve learned to be more compassionate towards people who really need our help. The values of Rotary, particularly the Four-way Test have become my guiding principles and ethics in business management. I’ll continue to serve Rotary and the pact with our Incoming President, Dr Eric Wong to serve two years will continue to be on the agenda.
I’ll not do justice if I don’t thank my Board of Directors. My Directors, thank you much for being with me. Without your co-operation and assistance, my life as the President would have been miserable. Our Club has won 5 awards because of you. We won the Best Award for Community Service in Pedicure and Manicure, Club Bulletin, Club Website and an award for the Mid-term Review.
I must also thank the Anns of the RCPJ. Your presence at our evening meetings and your support and encouragement for your spouses have indeed brought about a sense of togetherness. We’re a big family.
My dear Penny and my family, I appreciate your support. You’ve been wonderful. Thank you, Penny.
I must not forget our well wishers who have constantly assisted us in our fund-raising projects. Thank you, you good people.
This evening, I would like to take this opportunity to wish our PE and his Board a great year ahead.
Thank you for the last bulletin.
